WOMAN ATTEMPTING SUICIDE GETS FREED BY COURT

Court discharges Woman who attempted to commit suicide by jumping off Third Mainland Bridge



On March 24, a police watch group saved a material trader, Mrs Taiwo Titilayo Momoh, as she endeavored to submit to suicide by hopping off the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. 

Momoh was in a taxi heading towards Oworonshoki when she told the driver to stop on the extension, because of money related issues. 

The Police captured and later charged her before an Ebute Metta Magistrate Court in Lagos. She was allowed N500,000 safeguard after she argued not blameworthy to a charge of endeavored suicide, and the managing Magistrate, T. A. Elias requested her to experience psychiatric assessment under the watchful eye of her next court appearance on June 1.

The Magistrate's Court yesterday released her for offenses verging on endeavored suicide, and it was uncovered that the case was dismissed as recommended by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
