WIFE BATHES HUSBAND'S GIRLFRIEND WITH ACID
A desirous housewife (names withheld) in Okpanam community close Asaba, Delta State, has supposedly bathed a girlfriend of her husband with substance suspected to be corrosive acid.
It was gathered that the occurrence which happened on Sunday morning while the casualty was en route to the church, had been creating serious ripples within the people of Okpanam Community who portrayed the activity of the wife as "Babaric" and mischievous.
Despite the fact that, the police in the zone had affirmed the capture and resulting detainment of the suspect, yet her husband who addressed Journalists yesterday on the condition of anonymity , denied association with the casualty, saying that the casualty most times as neighbor calls him father. He stated, "I can't date a little girl who calls me her dad my wife acted in mistakes, she should face the music."
Expectedly, the suspect allegedly brought acid and poured it into water can and proceeded to the gate of the church (name withheld) in the area, and unknown to the victim who hails from Oleh town and had been living with her parents in Okpanam bathed her.
The suspect was said to have attempted to get away, unfortunately for her, she was caught by the on looker church individuals who later gave her over to the police. Addressing our journalist the minister of the congregation where the casualty worships with, minister John Ikubor affirmed that the casualty after the charged corrosive assault, was hurried to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Asaba where she is as of now responding to treatment.
At the FMC, Journalists were counteracted in taking her photo rather to talk with her. The casualty who managed to address Journalists said; "my assailant is a liar, I never dated her husband, she hated me and wanted to kill me, My Lord will expose her.
In a quick response, the police Image Maker in the state, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka affirmed that investigation was on going, including that the suspect would be charged to court on finishing of investigation.
