TENSION IN CROSS RIVER AS HERDSMEN KILLS FARMER
Unknown Fulani herdsmen has allegedly stabbed a farmer to death in Yala neighborhood government region of Cross River state.
Following the tragic incident, residents teamed up to chase away the herdsman.
An inhabitant, Pastor Emmanuel Ezama said the deceased stood up to the Fulani herder over the demolition of his farmland, adding that consequently, "the Fulani herder stabbed him to death."
In retaliation, inhabitants of the neighboring town of Itigidi in Abi LGA, burned houses and obliterated properties possessed by the Fulani herders, compelling them to clear Okpodon Community where they were settling.
At the point when reached on telephone on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Irene Ugho said she was yet to be informed.
"I have not gotten that information, but rather I will find out", she said.
