APC CHIEFTAIN IN ONDO ASSASSINATED FEW HOURS TO ELECTION


Obscure shooters have executed a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo, Ondo State. 

The casualty, Mr Afolabi Olaposi, was said to have been shot dead on his route home on Thursday night, November 24, in the wake of going to a meeting of the gathering in planning for the Saturday's governorship decision in the state. 

A representative for the APC part in Ondo, Mr Abayomi Adesanya, revealed this in an announcement issued in Akure on Friday, November 25. 


He said: "Olaposi, who is one of the pioneers of our gathering in Igboroko Ward 1, Owo, was likewise a fervent supporter of our Governorship Candidate, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN). 

"He was an immaculate man of honor who was focused on the improvement of the gathering in Owo and Ondo State when all is said in done. 

"The aggressor likewise went to the place of Chief Jamiu Ekungba, an APC competitor in the Sept. 3 Primary, and vandalized seven vehicles in his compound. 

"Ekungba was not to at home amid the assault. "We trust those requiring the deferment of the decision and debilitating a rehash of 1983 savagery were behind these obnoxious demonstrations. 

"We approach security operators in the state to angle out those behind these demonstrations and guarantee the assurance of our kin some time recently, amid and after the decision." 

The Spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Femi Joseph, couldn't affirm the episode when reached. 

" I don't have the subtle elements of the episode now, however the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) accountable for the decision will talk about it later," he told Vanguard on the phone. 

The Independent National Electoral Commission has demanded that the Ondo governorship decision will hang on Saturday, November 26, regardless of calls for deferment by 16 political gatherings and a few noticeable people including Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State.
